Our Journeys
We have developed three journeys aimed at building leadership skills and improved employability for youth. Although the content of these three journeys are mostly the same, the branding of each journey is built to enhance the culture and vibe of the group embarking on the journey. This is mainly determined by whether the group consists of girls, boys, or both. The three journeys are:
The Everyday Heroes Club: Developing boys into Heroes
The Leading Ladies: Developing girls into Leading Women
The Young Leaders: Developing youth into Young Leaders
The journey consists of various modules.
The Personal Leadership Foundation Module
This forms the foundation of the growth and development journey. It includes the discovery of the youth’s strengths, weaknesses, and ambitions. Most importantly, it grows the ability of selfreflection, which is the most crucial skill of continued personal development. Through various activities and discussions youth gain confidence to assert themselves in various situations.
The Communication Module
Communication is one of the most important skills in life and is one of the major determinants of youth’s personal and professional success. In this module youth learn and practice various components of communicating, listening, managing conflict, being assertive and managing emotions in communication.
The Diversity and Respect Module
This module guides youth through various discussions, activities and reflections to gain a deeper understanding and respect for diversity. It takes an in-depth look at race, gender, xenophobia and community. It is aimed at building an understanding and appreciation for diversity in preparation for the workplace and towards a true Rainbow Nation.
Other modules
Although we have developed the full three-year journey through an accumulation of various sources, we are currently updating our content and developing it into alone-standing modules. These modules include:
Transformational Leadership
Health and Sexuality
Career Guidance
Entrepreneurship
Social Impact
